Once upon a time, back when I posted on here three times a week, I dedicated Monday to a post related to music. This usually featured ten tracks from the previous week that had caught my attention.

The ridiculous schedule of posting a blog three times a week because exhausting. It stemmed from personal pressure and it was unnecessary. However, I miss sharing the music I’m listening to in the studio. Music is a huge part of my day-to-day life. From the minute I wake up, to the having a shower in the evenings, there is music played throughout the day non-stop.

Someone should give me my own radio show really – BBC Radio 1, I’m looking at you here. But seriously, you can find everything I’m listening to on Spotify and my yearly playlist is updated on a daily basis.

Rather than give you ten songs I’ve listened to this week I thought I’ll start a regular monthly post here and share the top artists, top tracks and top albums from the whole month. Not only to share what I listen to, but for me to also look back on moments and remember how some artists or songs had particular impact on what I’m doing throughout the year.

If you’re wondering how I’ll be picking my top choices, the answer is simple. My Spotify account is linked to and captures all the data for me. However, this month won’t be completely accurate as there was an issue with the scrobbling so not all the data was collected. Next month however should be a lot more accurate.

Without further ado, let’s delve into the sounds of the studio for May 2018. Happy listening. Please leave a comment below of any suggestions you may have of artists to give a listen to – the more obscure and quirky the better!
